The last two months I had home pregnancy tests turn positive (a very faint line) on 7th through 9th day past ovulation and then go back to negative. The first time around I had a blood test done that was negative. On all other times of the month my tests have been negative, but on those three days I have several positive ones, so I am not talking just one faulty test. Please answer only if you know what could be going on. Thanks!

Are you *sure* you know when you're ovulating? The most sensitive pregnancy test can usually *only* be positive 8 days after conception. How are you determining when you ovulate? Maybe you're ovulating a day or two earlier than you think?

There is no other hormone that mimics HCG in a pregnancy test. I assume you aren't taking HCG for any reason. You *may* be having early miscarriages. Failing that (or using the test incorrectly--seems unlikely if it's always and only happening on certain days), you need to see a doctor. It is probably indicative of a problem. But it is more likely to be an early miscarriage.

To be more certain of both of the above possibilities, I would suggest you chart your fertility signs (if you're not already). Please read _Taking Charge of Your Fertility_ by Toni Weschler.

That's called a chemical pregnancy. It's fairly common. That's the problem with testing too early. You should really only test one or two days before your missed period.

It could be that there ur hormones are unbalanced because of the timing.... the pregnancy test only looks for a few hormones but the blood work looks for all...
