I usually like to pick whichever side that they feel best comfortable in. Nelly Furtado even stated on MuchMusic that she feels more youthful and sexy now, thus I like her image and music now. As well, I never was such a big fan of her slow songs, but her new single and CD is hot and ever-lasting. I prefer Nelly now than a while ago. We haven't heard a lot from her for a while with the baby and all, but now Nelly's back and she's LOOSE!

As well, I didn't know that this I'm a Bird, Canadian singer, Nelly can transform to a fully-bloomed, hot diva! But, when she was in her older days she even knew that people don 't eat up that kind od music. They want the hip-hop sexy style, so she has a fake change. Inside of her she must still be a bird, but Oh welll.... she likes the change so we should too.

I prefer the older Nelly, but I understand her changing her image to appeal to the masses; sweetness has a much smaller demographic than sexy. Her songs are still good, I like her old stuff better and her new stuff is at least has hints of that old passion.

You can be sure that Nelly isnt like either in her real life, as the music videos portrayed "a character" much like in a movie or in WWE. its all about character.
Remember the music business, when someone wrote the music track currently doing the rounds in the charts. It gets taken to the board of that record company and given out to a singer under contract there.

Its a character in a music video. its not about her then or now thats to black and white. its that you like her! Her ability to sing and be flexible in the styles that she sings.
