I've tried it for the purpose of understanding myself better in order to get over fears and limitations. I would say that immediately afterwards, I felt very expansive and relaxed. That feeling lasted for a few hours and then I started to get "distracted" by life and then, I forgot about it. I think one of the challenges of hypnotherapy is that you think it's happening on a subconscious level so that you can be lazy on a conscious level about effecting change in your life.
To get the most out of your session, I would recommend writing about your experience immediately afterwards to help you recall your feelings and what happened. Also, see if the therapist will record the session so that you can listen to it later. To make what you learn stick, you need to consciously apply what you learn to your life everyday.
The other thing to mention is that you will be fully conscious during the session, so don't worry about blacking out or being made to cluck like a chicken ;).

There are different styles of hypnotherapy which you may or may not already be aware of. The reasons that you are going to see someone are my favorite (I'm a Clinical Hypnotherapist) because getting in touch with your inner self, your inner voice and learning to listen to your intuition truly allows for self discovery and guidance towards changing your current belief systems which are keeping you stuck where you are today.
Hypnotherapy absolutely works and my advice to you would be to just go with it. Don't TRY just allow it to happen. Have fun and ALWAYS look to the end results.
If you'd like additional info, please feel free to ask.
Peace, Kathleen

Go ahead and look forward to your hypnosis session, as long as your therapist has had the recognised training then there should be no problems. Remember though that the hypnotherapist is just a guide, who will guide you through " Your Experience", because at the end of the day, all Hypnosis is Self Hypnosis.

Works. My hypnotherapist is my best friend...
...I love him...
...I Love sending him a 100$ every week...
...He is God...
Just kidding, It really works... for some... You do have to want to work at it. It can not work if you resist. No hypnotherapist can make you do anything against your nature. But you will be surprised what's in your nature.
Have fun with it.

If you intend to make persons to do anything but in the same time perhaps not to share with them what they have to do then you'll need a program like Black Ops Hypnosis, a on the web program that you will believe it is here https://tr.im/L5uoI and that will show you how to make use of hypnosis without the other person know.
Black Ops Hypnosis it will educate you on the hypnosis technique. With this particular process you will have the ability to hypnotize yourself and the others about you for the benefit.
