If you wear it sparingly and not like a raccoon, wash it off at night, and use a mascara that conditions your lashes, it's fine and won't be harmful. Replace it every month (some say every 3, but that's a long time) to keep bacteria away from your eyes. If you don't like makeup removers from the store, then baby oil or olive oil are harmless and won't irritate your eyes, plus they are moisturizers for entire eye area. Make sure that when appying mascara you use natural lighting, if possible, to keep it from looking too thick and caky. If a light coat of mascara doesn't bring out your eyes the way you wish, then use eyeliner with it--they enhance each other and your eyes.

It is not harmful to your lashes unless you keep it on overnight. Not washing off your mascara at night will result in your lashes thinning and falling out. Sometimes it takes a long time for this to happen but it will catch up to you in the long run.

Not necessarily. Some are acually good for your lashes. I remember that when I started using Mascara, I did not have as many lashes as I do now. I use Loreal Voluminious and it is great.

Mascara is not harmful for lashes. It can be harmful for your eyes if you don't change it often. You should never use a tube of mascara for longer than three months (I change mine every month). It can grow bacteria very easily--plus when it's old it looks clumpy and it flakes off.

Not really, but you would want to stay away from waterproof mascera on a daily basics. Only use it when you know you will need it, like when going swimming, beach, rainy day or an even that you know you will cry. It's tough on your lashes and it's hard to wash it out.

No, mascara won't hurt your lashes. The only DON'Ts are not washing off mascara, and curling lashes after applying mascara.

can be. i used to have naturally thick and curly lashes, then I wanted to wear mascara....now they look faded on the tips, thinning and aren't as curly as they used to be. I started using it at 12 now, im 28. It will catch up with you.
