Hi, LBP. My name is Hank. Bush is an oilman, go figure. The prices are going up because the industry has allies in the White House. Cheney is a former president of an "oil services company." And, Bush bought and sold oil leases.
By the way, Bush got the seed money for his first oil company from Osama Bin Laden's daddy. Once again, go figure.

How would it be Bush's fault? It's simple supply and demand. On a bad day, OPEC and the other oil-producing nations decrease their production and the price shoots up, but even on a good day when they're producing as much as they physically can, we demand such huge quantities of it that they're barely keeping up, and the price still goes higher. Then there's all the steps in between, from the refineries to the gas stations themselves, and everyone along the way gets a cut.

It is largely Bush's lack of "bridge building" fault. Do you recall when Clinton was in office and the gas prices rocketed, he put a national moratorium on the gas tax, until prices came down. Now why hasn't Bush done that? Oh yeah his skyrocketing national debt, that Clinton never had.

No, it's not Bush's fault. Stop listening to the main stream media. It is OPEC that said we are using more fuel than they can keep up with so they raised prices. It's a matter of supply and demand. It's not just here in the U.S., it's everywhere. Bush has no control to stop the increase of prices.

There's no one thing that has caused gas prices to go up. The global economy affects gas prices, and so do oil companies.
There are ways you can avoid paying for gas on trips between cities. There's a new service coming on in August at http://www.ridester.com that will allow you to travel between any cities in the USA for less than a tank of gas would cost. It's pretty revolutionary, so bookmark, and in a month, you'll be paying less for gas than you ever have.

it's Detroits fault for making those huge gas guzzlers for people to drive. It's the fault of free enterprise being based on supply and demand. if the demand weren't so high the price would drop. it's everyones fault for not making our government force the automakers to come up with idear to reduce our dependance on oil. the fault doesn't lay on any one person but if you want to blame someone, blame yourself for doing nothing when everyone saw this day coming.
ps. you think prices are high here? go overseas.

Its a supply and demand issue. China and India are using more gas as their economies are booming, which increases demand, in turn raising prices. Its not Bush's fault, as much as I would love to blame him.

in 1976 the world were warned of oil shortage.... then the oil price booms up... in 1987 same thing repeated.... then suddenly after price booms, we still have lots of oil... then the gulf war, where they invade and burnt Iraqis oil... and again for the second time... now someone play with this commodity again... their target is to reach USD120 per barrel... then we all will see there are lots of oil again... trust me... this is petrol dollar economic games, it will stop once the whole trades shifted to use Euro Dollar or other currency trades... the first attempt was initiated by Iraq to trade in Euro Dollar, and Iraq has been invaded, now Iran is doing the same as Iraq by trading using Euro Dollar, just wait what will happen to Iran...

There are many factors to this. Most control over oil prices is exercised by OPEC and the oil sheiks. Also many oil refineries were wiped out in Katrina.

No, it's OPEC's fault because the rest of the world uses gas, and they decreased output to drive prices up. We have to fund their governments.
