We have in our office a female sociopathic liar. She has the owner's ear. We don't know why and can't figure out how to expose her. Ex. She was over heard (by her own secretary) telling the owner that the Acct'ing Dept. will stop at nothing to get July 3rd off. We have all been here over 10 years and have 4 weeks of personal and vacation time. If we want the day off, we can take it. But he believes her. She also has him convienced that the IRS is out to get him and that is why the parent company (which she keeps the books on, not us) is being audited. His own personal acctant told him they do random audits on all companies big and small. But he believes this bad egg, and not his own advisors. Does ANYONE have advice on how to expose her. Or at least open his eyes. We've tried prayer. Should we try prayer with a colored candle. Pyramids, incenses...I'm up for anything at this point.

That is extremely frustrating. Seems people like that coworker have a way of manipulating others to their advantages. It's sickening to be honest.

I think one of you should be elected to go into your boss's office and give them a heads up. Tell your boss that you and another coworker are willing to look over the records with your boss and see if any mistakes have been made. Let him know that it can be overwhelming working with all those numbers, and it's possible there was a mistake made. Let him know also who took the 3rd off and why. Tell your boss you understand how overwhelming his job can be and that you are trying to keep an upbeat attitude in your office and trying to lessen his stress level. Don't take a defensive approach or try and bad mouth that lying employee. Take a concerned approach and you may find that you will get better results.

It's hard to catch those sneaky people. They always seem to win somehow. But if you step back from the situation, and calm down eventually you will be in a better frame of mind to handle the situation and think of some positive solutions.

Often when stressful situations arise, we go into automatic defense mode and don't think logically about our responses to a situation at hand. Meet up with some of your coworkers, off the clock at a coffee shop or restaurant, and see if you can't bounce some ideas off of one another when your not in your work atmosphere.

I hope this helps. I wish I had more information to give you about this.

Give her enough rope to hang herself. If the boss actually owns the company he will see through her. However if the boss is just a manager lord help you.

Isn't this the girl who is quoted as saying that she will be running the company within six months, as she does most of the work herself now. At least that is what I heard. Pass it on..................
