Some internet videos won't allow me to download and I was wondering if I can get around this. Any practical suggestions would be helpful.

As long as it's not streaming, you've already downloaded the video, it's located in the temporary internet files folder.

Let the video load, then stop playing. Leave IE open!, using windows explorer, browse on over to "documents and settings\username\local settings\temporary internet files\"

sort the files by size, largest to smallest, double click on the mostly file that says it's a video file, ignore the system warning.
If that's the right file, then just copy/paste wherever you want.

alteratively, use a web package like frontpage or dreamweaver to make a website, then simply paste the URL in your website and save it to the desktop. then load your website, right click on the link and save it to your desktop or whereever, this method works well and by using your own site, you bypass any protection on the main page.
