a depilatory cream (nair, veet, sally hansen, etc.) i do this, EVEN THOUGH THE BOTTLE SAYS NOT TO!!!! So, if you get hurt, you can't sue, cause they told you not to. Here's the tips i follow.
1. do NOT get it on any mucus membranes
(trust me on this)

2. Sit VERY VERY still.

3. DON'T leave it on longer than the bottle says.

4. WIPE gently to get it off, in a bathtub of water is best

5. slather area with a soothing cream or oil for a day or two

6. all hair may not come off at one shot....try these soaking in hot water for awhile, and trim the area first.

here are some hazards...after you do this, when you pee, it may go sideways and thats generally annoying...if it happens try to pull apart the lips before you pee.

you will also sweat more in the creases of your legs, which could lead to being smelly if you're not careful.

if you go all the way back and get the hair on your anus, when it starts to grow back, it sometimes stabs you until its long enough to not be stubble.

IF after reading this, this sounds too dangerous for you, Noxema makes disposable bikini razors that are narrow and have a guard on them, so you get a shaved look, with just enough hair left, that you're not likely to get ingrown hairs (the major drawback with using a regular leg razor)
