To those of you who never had an opportunity to see Elvis in concert, my heart goes out to you for missing an absolute experience of a lifetime--one that is simply impossible to explain. Trying to portray the feelings you had at an Elvis concert is similar to trying to describe being an Elvis fan to someone who isn't. The energy level of the audience and the excitement of just being in the same arena with him is captivating and almost overwhelming - simply writing words do not do justice to the explanation. Elvis always performed in a manner that made you not want to blink an eye for fear of missing one little thing that he might do. Regardless of where you were seated, even if you were in the "peanut gallery," you were still a part of this spectacular historical event --- something that you could never forget. Elvis Presley projected a form of magnetism, and regardless of how ill he might have been the last few years of his life and the many times he should have not been on stage, he was still the ultimate entertainer and our hero.
Long live the King!

I saw The Police in late '79 or early '79 in a small club near Buffalo with about 30 other people. You could tell they had something. I was dragged there on a work night.
It was well worth it.
Wildest - KISS vintage 79 or 80
loudest - Damm Yankees (Ted Nugent)
bizzare - Utopia
largest special effect - ELO and the spaceship
Hanging - Allice Cooper
longest break - between the Clash and The Who at Rich Stadium - loss my buzz and the Who were not rock'n
Drugged out - Aerosmith Forgot word to Dream on - early 80's
Blue Oyster Cult - Godzilla tour
Levon Helm - CNE
Group I missed : PINK Floyd

Lake Geneva Wis had a music venue call Majestic Hills. (also a ski hill). It was just a big rectangular building with a stage at one end. They used to have concerts a couple of times a week. Groups like Mountain, Beach Boys, Cryin Shames, Youngbloods played there.
Appr 1968-69 they booked the Who. Roger Daltry would swing his microphone out over the crowd. I was close enought that I could have caught it. Wish I had pictures. Keith Moon was still alive. He busted up a set of drums during a set and at the end Peter Townshend and the rest smashed guitars. Classic rock and roll moment. I was a freshman in college.

Im 28yrs old, I just HOPE Im able to catch EARTH, WIND & FIRE in concert. unable to, but however I saw Micheal Jackson in the HISTORY tour when he came to Malaysia back in 1999. Unbelievable event in my life. One part of my dream has came true.
Then there was LINKIN PARK who had thier METEORA tour also in Malaysia, That was so awesome. Off course one unforgetfull moment was 3G, JOE SATRIANI, STEVE VAI and ERIC JOHNSON Performed for the BEAT OF ASIA concert, The concert was a 3day event that consisted of many artitsts, incl Sugar ray, The Corrs, All 4 that, Jethro Tull, 3G and many more. When it came to 3G, it was already late on 5.15 am on the 3rd day due to delays.Halfway thru when Joe Satriani was playing Devil's Slide suddenly an official came in stage and told Satriani to stop playing cos the Police came down to close the Performance since they were only licensed up to 5.20am. I WAS SOO DAMN MAD. The goldamned tickets cost me abt 550 Bucks, and it was gone to the wind. So there u have it, the best legends in my life.

BB King in a small concert hall in MD in 2000 with about 3000 of my closet friends :-) He just blew the crowd away. The mastery of the guitar that he has is amazing. Nothing like an intimate venue to really let you connect with the artist. Its the only way!

Here are some of the performers I've seen who have passed away:
Tommy Bolin (1977 I think, I was 17)
Stevie Ray Vaughan (3x, all sort of accidental, once opening for Jeff Beck, another when I scored free tickets, and once guesting with Eric Clapton)
Michael Hutchence (INXS, once at the basketball arena, once on the club tour)
Layne Staley (Alice in Chains, Lollapalooza '93)
Miles Davis (he glared at me, funny story)
Dwayne Goettel (Skinny Puppy, 3x)
Fred Smith (once with Patti Smith, once with four surviving members of MC5)
Michael Houser (Widespread Panic, 2x)
Lowell George (Little Feat, 1977 I think, opening for Dave Mason at a half-empty Cobo Hall)
Albert Collins (1977 San Francisco Blues Festival)
