In my opinion, any automobile that utilizes less fuel, has low emissions and keeps one safe in an accident is a great car. For my money, the Toyota Avalon that I was driving when I was hit in the driver door (which didn't intrude into to passenger compartment when it was impacted) is the best thing going on the road. I was a little shaken and bruised, but I didn't have a scratch. My car was able to be repaired and will soon look like new! Good luck with your search!

It depends on what your expectations are for the car. If I want a car that will last for an extended time with few costly repairs, I would select a Japanese brand. If I want a car that looks good, I would select an American brand. If I want a car that is mechanically superb, I would select a German brand. Again, best brand is in the eyes of the beholder.

don't buy american. they practiced planned obsolescence in the 80's and probably still do today. Thats when they test to see how long things will last so they can regulate it and make it break when they want it too, its how they know how many spare parts to make. Do a google search for that and you'll find it. Don't trust them, besides, they get the worst gas mileage and pullute the most. When Ford motors made the Pinto in the 70s they found out that it had a flaw in its design and that the result was that on side impact the gas tank would explode and the doors would probably be too impacted to open and the people in the car would be burned. They calculated that it was cheaper to pay the legal settlements than to recall all the cars they sold so they just let people burn. Thats a commonly known fact too.

Japanese has best brand of car available than American or German. Japanese has sell the cheap cars, good gas mileage, also make the hybrid cars in future.

Don't buy American SUVs or trucks that make you waste your money for the gas. Just buy the least gas SUV.

Germans has epensive cars more Japanse or American has. Germans cars are rich that the rich people wants them.

Best car on the planet is Lexus.

You have all the rest fighting for status, position but Lexus is far far out in front.

They have a simple theory......build the same cars over the years but just keep refining them removing every last bug.

Its why their tag line is " relentless pursuit of perfection ".

As my personal preference i would go with American(Ford) always have always will. Now statistically speaking which car will last longer Toyota. But it also depends a lot more on how well you take care of the vehicle than who makes it. its all about lubrication and breathing so what ever car it is you buy make sure you take car of it and you'll be fine...as long as you don't buy a Hyundai.

Well.... I guess that depends on what you want out of your car.... now doesn't it? Personally, I'm fond of Japanese cars.... you get luxury and reliability. Then again... European cars do have status..... and American cars are improving and usually have loads of horsepower....
