Why is it every time a movie becomes announced with a similar name to another, people thinks its a remake. Its like the new Police Academy movie. For some reason its just called Police Academy. So everyone in the forums for it thinks its a remake.
Some guy answered a opppinon on Superman 1 (the 70's one) saying that he would never go see it because he had heard it was a remake. Hell some people have said it was a seuqel to Superman 2 or 3. There is NOTHIGN in that movie that has any link to either movie. It could be called SUperman 5 for all we care. It just happens to mention the original planet Superman came from.

People always jump to conclusions. The reason people don't want to see sequels and remakes is because they are usually dissapointing because they aren't as good as the first movie.

I don't know - I've seen some remakes/sequels that were totally great on their own. I'm going to go see the Omen tonight, just so I can compare the two, but at the same time I'm going to take it on it's own merit, not just as the remake. As far as the sequels thing goes, people do jump conclusions & make assumptions. They might miss out on a great movie because of pre-conceived notions! Keep an open mind, sit back & chill - life is too short to have your panties in a bunch ALL of the time!! lol

Superman Returns was written as a sequel to Superman 2. And, uh, if you've seen both movies, yes, there is a link. And why wouldn't we associate two movies with the same name? This is why most companies DON'T give their movies the same name and DO use the same name when it's taken from a book or older movie.

TOTALLY agree with you, and even if it is a sequel, you already know the plot and you can follow along. remakes pshaw, they're never really the same as the original.
