i live on ssi diability the internet service is in my roommates name not mine my serious question is i have 2 sisters inviting me to get togethers and holidays both unwilling to pick me up for such as i don't drive a car they tell me if a neighbor wont bring me to and from i can come by greyhound i can't afford such not on my income what can i tell them both to get my point across in a friendly manner any serious suggestion most welcome ty in advance

I have always said that "family, is the hardest thing you'll ever have to do." Your sisters don't sound very compassionate. I would talk with the sister who you feel closest to. Communicate honestly that given your situation your budget is so tight that it doesn't allow for extras. Maybe you could meet them (or one of them) part of the way. Make sure that they know that you are very excited about spending time with them. A positive attitude helps every time.

Would it be possible to move these get togethers closer to you, so the commute wouldn't be so bad? If this isn't possible, ask them if they can help you get a bus ticket. It also may not hurt to share with them the reason(s) that you can't afford one yourself. I hope this helps and good luck!

Just be frank with them...tell them that on you would love to go but on your limited income you can't afford to. At that point, they may offer to help.

Just tell the truth politely and with tact.
"I would love to see you, and spend time with you, but I can't afford a bus ticket on my fixed income, please send me pictures!"
