Before logging off your PC, if you use Internet Explorer, clear your history by going to Tools>Options>General tab and click the Clear History button.
Then go into your Temporary Internet files and delete those.
Your internet activity is logged by Windows, however and there's no way you can completely hide your usage if someone "in the know", like the cops are bent on tracking your steps.

quickest way is to open up your broswer (if using IE) and click on Tools, Internet Options, Delete Files, and check all offline content. After that finishes, then click on the delete history button. If you want to get rid of the cookies (text files that can hold personal info like logon credentials) click on delete cookies as well. Hope this helps!
