Go in this order:

1) tires, any tire shop can tell you if a tire is bad, you may have a broken steel belt and not know it. Rotation may also be an good option.

2) Alignment, Front wheel alignment may be in order. Some tire shops offer a discount on alignment when you buy tires from them. Aligning your front end at a discount, benefits them too, from having to replace your tires within that warranty period.

During alignment the shop can tell you if you need to replace any part of your front end (tie rod ends, center link, sway bar, ball joints, etc).

3) Check on your brakes. More than likely you will experience problems at a slower speed if brakes are an issue, plus brakes tend to make a great deal of noise when there is a problem. Unless you have a Caliper sticking. I don't think it's brakes.

The ticking can be from your suspension reacting from a bad tire, plus many other things.

Not sure if a 2000 Impala is front wheel drive, but if it is, you have CV joints that could be bad. CV joints would be a very loud obnoxious click that would want to make you turn up the old country song.

It's possible you have many different problems making all of this.

Tires first.

If the car is still under warranty, take it in to be checked.

Everything I speak of is from experience of owning used vehicles, except for having a warranty, never had one on a car, lol.

You could have a multitude of problems but usually a shake of the wheel at certain speeds is an indication that you need to have the tires balanced.

you probably need an alignment or a tire rotation. Also check your lug nuts to makesure they are securely tightnened onto the wheel. Bring the car to a shop nearby and have them take a look. Service like this usually costs between $60 and 80.

It can be anything from expensive front end repairs or something as simple as a tire balance. Check the front end 1st at a local garage, if all is good and the tire is in good shape, then just balance the front tires and you should be good to go.
