Because the vast majority of people would rather hate someone who is different instead of trying to learn anything about them.

Islam is a religion of peace, at least as much as Christianity is. Both advocate getting along with those who are different.

A few fanatics -- hundreds or thousands, out of a religion of hundreds of millions -- are crazy enough to hate anyone who is different, and decide to attack them. It's the same for Christianity, with hundreds or thousands (out of hundreds of millions) being rabid fanatics who try to destroy anyone who doesn't agree with them.

The problem is, people look at the few fanatics, shouting loudly and getting all the attention, and think they represent the other 99.8% of the population.

It's time to stop blaming entire religions, countries, cultures for the irrational actions of a few fanatics. It's time to realize that fanatics are just criminal lunatics who ignore their own laws, and do what they want out of a sense of entitlement and personal agenda. The rest of the population should not be held to blame for their insanity.

And that's true whether you are talking about Islam fanatics, Christian fanatics, Democratic fanatics, Republican fanatics, or KKK fanatics. Just because they claim to speak in the name of the majority doesn't make it so.

Islam is an ideology of political power hiding behind the mask of religious dogmatism. World domination is the islamic goal and all "religious war' is carried and fought towards these ends. It is the right of all nations to band themselves together and fight back. Its so pathetic to see the United Nations cringe whenever 'jihad' is mentioned. It is not interpreted in the meaning, but the radicals who practice the Islamic notion that all infidels are devils and evil and must succumb to that relgion or die, have been seen to be mixed in the realm of terrorism. It is the only religion which goes out of its way to persecute and destroy members of other faiths in this modern world. It preaches moderation but does not practice it.
