Ronaldo had been trying to wind him up all match (Back chat and Head nudges)! Rooney was being taken 2 on 1 and was fouled before he landed on that guy's nuts. When looking at the camera angle, his foot didn't have anywhere else to land! Poss yellow card offense - BUT Ronaldo butted in and starting having a go @ the ref for not booking Rooney, and thats why Rooney pushed him away - Hence the Red Card! completely un called for ! And after all that - Ronaldo has the gall to WINK and SMIRK! If the ref was that card happy, he should have had half a dozen Portuguese off first for play acting and showboating¬!
Coincidence or not? - It was the same Argentinian ref that booked Rooney who sent Beckham off in the last championships when were sent home! Hmm.. Odd! Hope he visits us here in Manchester soon - Can't wait to see Ronaldo's homecoming!!
I can't wait for Ronaldo to leave Man Utd for Stupid Real Madrid - He was rubbish for us anyway - all mouth and no talent! He is a bull headed cocky arrogant player, and he should be ashamed of such underhanded play! Call this a gentleman's game! Pah!

Cos the thuggish temperament reared its head once again. Had to admit tho, he deserved to go,just wish he had chinned that ponce ronaldo on his way off. Come back Ruud Van man,all is forgiven.

because he deserves a red card! he kicked carvalho in de balls on purpose. in a photo he's looking where he's putting his foot before it goes down! and as for Ronaldo, he didnt influence the ref. everyones saying how could he do that to his team-mate? well, while there both wearing different jerseys there not team-mates. you wouldnt see rooney his about to take a shot and stop and go 'hear Ronaldo take it!' Ronaldo was completely right and good on him!

rooney got out because that rearted slime ball ronaldo, made him annoyed on purpose so rooney pushed ronaldo and rooney got a card. ronaldo and the rest of portugal were happy now because england didnt have their best players , beckham and rooney.

Either because of the stamping incident which is generally accepted to be the real reason. Or my theory that he was sent off for ugliness above and beyond the call of duty.

Because he kicked Carvhalo in the balls and it almost looked like its on purpose and then the fact that he shoved Ronaldo didnt help either.
