because they know their child...know the kinds of decisions they are currently making, and don't want them to have to be reminded for the rest of their life about some silly decision they made a skids...I know I regret or am at best amused by most of the "decisions" I made as a teen. I am thankful I don't have some silly tattooo to remind me. Also, parents klnow their kids are already perfect, so you are only marring perfection with silly tattoos. they are as silly as wearing backwards baseball caps.

A tattoo is a major decision and you have to think twice be for you do it. Think about that the tattoo will be on your body for the rest of your life. So try to make this decision with your parents not to communicate them that you're already made up your mind.

Tattoos are permanent and most teens do things on a "whim". If you really want to permanently mark or brand your body, take time to mature and if after a few years of being adult you still want the tattoo, then get it. These things stay with you for life...imagine being eighty-five years old with roses, hearts and bears running down the side of your leg...not so pretty.

Because they care about you. It's not fair but alot of people and jobs judge you based on your appearance. So if you're covered in tattoos and peircings then they won't hire you. Plus, when you grow more mature, you might end up regretting that tattoo, so they just want you to wait until you're old enough and mature enough to make that decision wisely.

Because what seems like a great tattoo to a 15 year old may seem like a really bad idea when they are 25. Its also very expensive and scaring to remove them.

Tattoos are disgusting! Be cool like me and don't get any. I've never had a tattoo, body piercing, cigarette, alcoholic beverage, or sexual experience and I'm 23. Everybody should aspire to be innocent and clean-mouthed (no profanity) like me!

Some parents think that their child is being talked into getting one and you have some that think that they are in love and they want to get the girlfriend or boyfriends name put on them, then they eventually break up but is stuck with the tatoo.

I don't think they get angry it's more disappointment. Teens are under peer pressure constantly and always want what someone else has. They haven't become independent enough to make their own decisions.

My parents say any time I feel ready go a head. Your parents realize that it is a life long commitment and getting some thing now you could possibly regret later.

Because they dont want to see their kids make a big mistake and most are not mature enough to make decisions for life long commitments. Its not like piercing an ear or two when you dont want it anymore you just take it out
