Planning to retire in the Philippines is a good decision. I heard about some real estate developers that developes subdivision exclusively for retirees like you where u can have all the amenties you enjoy in US. Imagine receiving your pension in dollars and spending it in peso. (1$ = P 53 for your info).

Through the Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA), you can avail of The Philippine’s Special Permanent Resident Visa Program through the Special Resident Retiree’s Visa (SRRVisa).

Please let me know if i can be of help. I personally know the PRA President. She is good friend of my boss.

the department of tourism in the Philippines is recently trying to improve and promote medical and health tourism in the country. in a few years time, the reitrement places there would be better and services will be more satisfactory. Although the price might increase in the future. But philippines is popular for giving good services at a cheaper price.

Visit the Philippines first and see the services that they can offer and if you will be contented with them. That's the best way for you to decide whether to choose the place as the country where you will retire or not.

I would not tell you it is cheap there, it might be depends on the place where you want to live and the people around you,,
I suggest you visit the Philippines for vacation and try to learn more about the situation, culture and cost of living, weather, people etc...

All the things you need can be accessed when you live in Metro Manila. It is not expensive in the Philippines because the money that you will bring will be multiplied by 52 pesos depending upon the exchange rate. Everything you have in the US are already in the Philippines but not as fantastic as in the Mainland.

I actual were to all of mainland Spain and Canaries and performance been to various part of Balearic's and locate Alcudia in Majorca is the excellent and going lower back this July. I actual were to Menorca yet found it extra for the relaxing very mature human beings or households with toddlers. Alcudia is a kinfolk hotel with kinfolk and man or woman leisure, the in straightforward words section i'd keep away from is the Bellevue complicated because the nutrition is undesirable and leisure not very solid - we are both over 50 years old, solid success

Hello , I think you can find a detailed list of monthly expences on the web site of Cebu Living . I just returned from a province in Cebu called Tulian . I was told that if you have a home there and it is all furnished, you can get by on 500$ a month easily . You may have to aircondition one main room though as your electric bill may get high otherwise . Try living in the provinces though , and not in bigger cities . This will keep your cost of living down . The cost of land is also cheaper away from big cities , I think . I found my land outside of Cebu much cheaper but can still get into the city everyday if I want . Regards , Lee

The Philippines is a lot cheaper than the US, that is for sure.

You should contact the Philippine Embassy with all of your enquiries. They'll be the ones to help you with your visa when you decide to retire. They can give you ballpark estimates.

You can own a nice home for about $65,000. I think one can live very comfortably with less than $500/month. As long as you stay in the city or surrounding provinces close to Manila, one should have all the amenities that we enjoy here in the U.S. Of course if you chose to live in the remote provinces, standard of living is way even cheaper but you don't enjoy all of the amenities. You can even hire household help very cheaply. Having U.S. dollars can get you a long, long way in terms of buying power.
