lex luther was too much of a joke and lois lane's little poetry thing when she was flying with Superman blew. and HE WENT BACK IN TIME BY REVERSING THE ROTATION OF THE EARTH. that doesn't make any sense, it would have been more believable if he went back in time by farting out a mass of anti-chronotons

the first superman movie was many donkey years ago...at that time, it's cool to see it...of course looking back, everything we did would be a laughing stock to current generation.... but hey, maybe another 10-20 years later, people will think that our movie like da vinci code, superman returns, lord of the rings etc really sucks as new technologies will be available in the future to make movies more believable....

what do you expect from a movie that came out in 1978!!!
I watched it again a few days ago w/ my 4 year old (he's a BIG Superman fan) and he LOVED it. It was pretty much the same movie that I saw umpteen years ago. I don't mind it so much...

That movie was made in a time when Superman was big. Superman was the ultimate super hero at the time. And DUH. he uses his super powers to reverse time.. not go back in time. watch the movie. Hell that scene of Lois and Superman flying is a classic just in itself.

I have no desire to see it. Ebert and Roeper pretty much bashed it. It's one thing to try and remake the Original with the sam plot, but, it's another when you try to change the dialog to it to give it more drama. 2 thumbs way down.
