Ya, that is a very good point. The American Heritage Dictionary defines tolerance as, "a.Leeway for variation from a standard. b. The permissible deviation from a specified value of a structural dimension, often expressed as a percent. c. The capacity to endure hardship or pain." That definitely does not sound appeasing. Acceptance is slightly better, but there still might be a better word. Maybe we should just call it racial love, I don't know.

The main thing is for all the belligerent people out there who explode at anything and everything having to do with race or ethnicity to calm down. If some people would just let down their guard and maybe laugh once in a while, then the world would be a much happier place.

And if blacks are called African Americans, then I want to be called an European American, not a white. What is the difference? If it bothers me shouldn't I be able to change it? It sounds like a racial slur to me. And let's call Hispanics Latin Americans or Hispanic Americans. I think Hispanic is a racial slur. Not! I tell you what, we are all Americans and should all be called just Americans. If you don't want to be proud of being an American, then please leave.

The reason it hasn't changed is because some people don't know what tolerance really means (like many other words they use on a daily basis) and because there are some obstinate people out there who do know what it means and truly believe that they have to tolerate other races. How sick is that?
