not if they are true, but if you use them in defence of attacking blacks and/or gays then yes it is.

Its condescending if its said as a defense for something you said or did that wronged a black or gay person. Its usually said this way:"But some of my best friends are black/gay" If you don't visit each others homes and hang out together anywhere besides work/school then you aren't friends you are co-workers and associates.

I don't see why it would be condescending....
I would say it depends on the context of the other sentences and tone of voice, but the general statement should be fine.
As if to say, "Some of my friends drive SUV's or have Pitt Bulls. What's the difference
People just seem to be too sensitive

Well, that depends when and how the statements are used. They usually follow a stereotypical criticism of black people or gay people, and come after the words, "Don't get me wrong..." On the whole, usually, yes.

I think it depends on the context of the conversation. and I think it has to do with your audience. If you are among people who adhere to the anal rules of Political Correctness, it will be construed as condescending.
It's like not referring to Jewish people as Jews. Used to be and probably still is an insult to call a Jew a Jew unless you are a Jew. People will infer their own meaning regardless of your intention,

Don't worry - It's all PC crap just designed to make touchy arseholes think they're in the right. I remember hearing about blacks hating being called coloured and so I made sure I started taking care about who I attributed the respective terms to and then some stupid black ***** on Big Brother says 'Oh and don't call me black, we don't like black, I'm coloured!'. If you're in a no-win situation like that, you might as well just say **** it and treat the cunts like the arseholes they deserve to be treated as.

since you didn't list the statements, it's pretty hard to tell if they are condescending. My crystal ball is out being polished.

if you'd said 'some of my best friends' then maybe but it could allso be a statement of fact, ultimetly i think its really just to do with the way you say it, like you're exact tone of voice.

yes. due to redundancy.
I can't think of anyone I know who does not have a gay or black friend or two.
so why feel the need to say it?

Not a good thing to say. Does it really matter what the color or sexual orientation your friends are? Friends are friends.
