I think it was The Pointer Sisters, but not sure. The guess about Gladys, I think that would be Gladys Knight & The Pips, also sounds pretty good. Leaving On The Midnight Train To Georgia might be the title, it can be googled. Nice song.

She had a group with her too when she sang the song, they were called the 'pips'. And it wasn't a typo for pimps.
