Why don't people like Americans?

So what if were free? We have more freedoms then you ever will. I think people are just jealous, they don't/will never have the luxuries we do. And without the U.S. the worlds economy would basically suck. Hitler could have gotten away with killing ALL the Jews he wanted. The U.S. has done so many things in history people just for get. I know America isn't what it use to be, but that doesn't mean you have to hate us.

Would you people quit with your generalization! I didn't do althoughs things OUR GOVERMENT DID! I don't act arrogant or self centered, I donate and give stuff away and try to help other countries. The snobby americans, no offense, but are usually the big buisness men! I'm sorry, but please don't generalize b/c of the stupid things our government mite have done.

It is certainly easy to think as you do. I would like to as well, but it just is not reality.

I will give you some reasons:

1) Foreign media is very anti american. The media has a profound effect on the beliefs of foreigners as well as people in the US.

2) The USA is aggressive. We send troops and use military might when we should stay out of things.

3) Americans have a penchant for knowing very little about other countries, languages, and history. This reflects poorly on us.

4) Hitler was beaten by a combination of circumstances and countries. Yes, the USA might have been the large straw that broke the camels back. However, the Russians were hurting them pretty bad too. Also, the UK and other European allies were causing some damage.

The USA has done some very good things in this world. We have also been a bit greedy and arrogant as well.

You and other Americans are hated cause you think the world stats and ends with America. you don't care for other nations feelings and tradition. you r all self centred. after 9/11 you thought that you had seen tragedy. but there are nations that are attacked daily. In my country(India) there are 3-4 terrorist attacks daily. you don't know the meaning of suffering. you take everything and everyone for granted. you think the world should worship your feats just because yo are American. you talk about how much good America has doe in history, well tell me how much old is the history of America. you talk about world war, how much damage did America had to bear except pearl harbour. and war had started some years before that, where was America then to save the world? America in its little history has done little good and much wrong. you think you are the law keeper the policeman of this world. the attack on Iraq and threatening Iran. what is it. is it not acting like you own the world.

I am Canadian and I have as many freedoms as you do, the same luxuries you do, and I am NOT jealous. America has done many good things, they get forgotten because the bad things keep everyone watching the news. You have been stereotyped because of the antics of your self serving government, which has put a bulls eye on your backside, when you yourself have done nothing wrong.

Good question. I do like America but not the Americans because of that snobish behaviour. I also follow from the newspapers what is happenning in Iraq. You gave good reasons but I couldnt see anything about Americans being respectful to other people.
You said OUR GOVERNMENT DID IT. Do you mean that your government gave you the luxury which other nations are jealous of, very strange ?????

I'm American, I think the reason people hate us because of the position we take in the world. We Americans forget that we are not only American citizens but citizens of the world also. Another reason is our arrogance and our non capability to stay out of other countries business.

I am American and live in California and you are correct in some ways, America is not what it used to be.....

Americans are selfish, greedy and feel they should have power over everything. That is why we are so hated right now.
