I've seen a few questions where people asked for medical advice and were given misleading or incorrect information. Now, that's troubling.

This is not a community. This is a single forum on a web site where inane questions are posted.
Throw 'community', 'ajax', 'web 2.0' or any other meaningless jargon that currently in vogue on a site and you shall receive visitors such as yourself making bold claims about how innovative the site is.

Because yahoo is trying to compete with google answers & wants you to have fun here on this site with real people & real answers & stay with yahoo. Yahoo answers is the new guy on the block looking for your business.

You know that and I know that but sometimes people like to get information from a different source. Google is the first place I go. I'd much rather find the info on my own than trust someone elses opinion.
This Yahoo Answers is a socialization thing. I wouldn't use it to site references, lol!
Wow, look at all the intellegent responses you received already.....NOT.
Bluealt: This will NEVER be Google Answers unless they come up with a way moderate all the immaturity out successfully.

You bring up a very valid point. Typically out of all the health questions I have asked on this site, I think I've received only one correct answer. Which is the reason I've come up with a policy that I ONLY trust answers that can provide a reputable source of information. I think everyone needs to come up with a system of trust with this site, since so many people are either ignorant, stupid, or just plainly lie about the information you want to learn.

I think it is just people want to have an opinion rather than a real answer. I guess too its more of a contact thing. I agree with you, I could answer any of these questions in 2 minute by a quick search and it would be correct. A lot of these answers are wrong and you have to wait so long for a correct answer.

Yahoo provides a site to vent a site to seek help or advice; a site that is personalized. It's like school. Would you rather have a teacher who lectures information all day or a teacher who lets you voice your opinion and interact with others?

Because when you google you get a ton of sites that you need to sift through, and it's impersonal. Here, you get answers really fast, they're from real people with real experience, and if you're not satisfied you can google your question too. So it's a great preliminary step.

Since you sound like Alice (in Wonderland), let me play cheshire cat to answer you:.
`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you ca'n't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.'
This is a community of mad people who want "innovative" and "naturally-intelligent" answers like this and not "system-generated" and "artificially-intelligent" repetitions of the past, dug out from some graves.
Its not about better answers, its about human answers, dude!
Be human, ask yahoo answers... he he, I sound like working for yahoo... should patent this tagline!

first of all why the heck are you on this website, second of all I personally think that "99 percent" stuff is a load of crap, you have no way of proving yourself, also what would you do without your supposed "i percent" huh? I just come here because I get direct answers, instead of having to go through 13,000 answers that have one word from my question in them.

Because it fun to here answers from other people. and to help out other people with their questions. Also it interesting to see how others answer questions that are not yours. You can't google relationship questions!
