I've not gone through a tradtional travel agency before, but I do very highly recommend Your Magical Journeys. They book exclusively for Disney vacations. They are free to the customer, as Disney pays them for each booking they make. We used them earlier this year and they are fantastic! Extremely friendly, extremely quick in response time, and they do everything they can to get the best deal for you and your family. You can go to their website for a free quote: http://www.yourmagicaljourneys.com/ . The agent we used was Debbie Kuhns, but I've heard that they are all wonderful.
I don't believe that Your Magical Journeys books airline flights though, but they will help you make arrangements for Disney's Magical Express (the free Disney transportation service that now picks up WDW resort guests at the airport and takes them back again). My brother-in-law is planning a trip to Paris this Fall, and he compared rates of going through a traditional travel agent (booking a trip including the flight), and he found it would be cheaper to book the trip on his own, making a separate purchase through a discount airline website. So, I'm willing to bet that you would get a better airline rate that way as well.

ETA:
Also wanted to add that we priced it out on WDW's official website (http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/index ) first, and yourmagicaljourneys.com got us a MUCH better deal. They just have access to information that we didn't even know to look for/ask for by going directly through Disney.

I use a travel agent for all my trips. A travel agent will run the exact same rates as Disney, no more or less. However, they offer you a lot more. First of all, Disney can do a lot of things that end up not being so good for your trip. For example, booking the wrong package, hotel, etc. It happens a lot. A travel agent works with this every day and will make sure it doesn't happen or is corrected. Also, an agent that specializes in Disney will book dinings, tours, transfers, etc. So you don't have to do it all yourself.

The only thing, with air, it is almost always less to get it outside of Disney. Their rates can be pretty high and if you are looking to safe money, you may consider booking the air seperate.

If you are wanting to go in a few weeks, you really need to get started on the planning. With last minute trips you usually have to just take what is left, not that anything is bad at Disney, you just may have to pay more than you expect. Also, a lot of the dining you may want could be sold out.

I've used a travel agentt for my past 3 vacations...do some research, they can price match to the internet prices at the time of booking. I found a great all inclusive deal on travelocity, but I needed the better travel insurance (I was going on my spring break from being a teacher...if snow days cancelled my spring break, I needed the travel agency insurance to get my money back. Sites like expedia and travelocity don5t have insurance that covers that reason) and my travel agent price matched, saving me a $1000 bucks off the package for 3 people.

I just returned from Orlando on Saturday. I booked everything online through Priceline and Travelocity. Everyting came out ok, but it was probably just as cheap when I booked mine through a travel agency a few years ago. If you are planning to go in a few weeks, you might have waited too long to get really good deals. If you could, you probably need to wait until mid to late Spetember. July and August are the hottest and most crowded months to go. It was very miserble when I went. Wait times for most rides exceeded one hour.

Travel agencies are a ripoff anymore, and they will often try to sweet-talk you into a more expensive deal. They are not in business to save you money, they are in business to make big commissions. They will recommend the deal that makes them the most money.

However, if you play your cards right and act like you are interested, you can sometimes get a lot of free information out of a travel agent.

For good deals on vacations, you're better off going to a travel website like Expedia, Travelocity, Priceline, etc.

I would skip the travel agent, unless you've heard of a good deal near you. Book your Disney Vacation with Disney themselves. Visit www.disneyworld.com. Disney offers great deals which include your stay at a Disney Resort, park tickets for your entire family and even a meal plan if you are interested.

Your previous question regarding this topic said you were a "single mom of 4 and you don't have a money tree growing in the backyard", but now you want all inclusive? That's a complete oxy moron and definately not for the budget minded traveler.

You're also travelling in the highest demand season. Yes Orlando is busy all year around as it is an International Destination, but if you really want to save money, don't go during the summer and don't go all inclusive.

it depends, i have tried both in the past, sometimes go to Disney.com and creating your own package or getting in contact with them can do wonders, (you have to remember that agencies, will charge you a fee for their services, and that most of the time they are buying their packages from the company, so you might as well go directly to the company, only sometimes agencies will have promotional stuff, if i were you i will get in touch with Disney first and talk to a live person there, and most likely they will work around your budget. Last year my friend tried Expedia.com to book a Disney cruise and it was a very reasonable price.

I have found when booking most of my travel that agents do a better job at about the same price. They have computer access to ionformation we do not have and the ability to negotiate with other booking agencies. I only use internet booking for last minute stuff.
