Does Anybody Know! I drive a 97 Mazda 626 dx,(automatic) and my OverDrive light keeps blinking. Also when i am going from 0 to 60 with my foot on the accelerator, it does'nt accelerate well. It stalls a little as if it was manual shift. When i am accelerating it makes the sound but it does nothing, i have to then take my foot off of the gas pedal then press it again until i pass like 40 mph. i hope this makes sense to anyone.

Good morning,
The most common problem is low oil level in the Trans. With the car warmed up. Drive down and get a coffee or something. Or after going to work, leave the engine running, pop the hood, and look for the TRANSMISSION dip stick. If it's front wheel drive, it will be on the right had side. Sometimes the handle is painted yellow. But not guaranteed. pull the dipstick out, wipe it off, put it back in. pullit back out and look at it to see if it is full enough.
If it is low, your transmission will slip. The transmission takes DEXTRON 3 transmission fluid. red in collor.

You have a transmission problem. The OD light is telling you there is an issue that needs to be looked at. The reason the car feels flat until you back off and get on it again is the converter clutch isn't unlocking or the OD clutch pack isn't holding.

Sounds like a transmission issue. Might have a bad gear. Get it looked at by a transmission specialist.

Your fourth gear or overdrive seems not to be operating correctly. Can you check your transmission fluid and make sure it is up to specifications? If it is, then you have more serious transmission problems.

It sounds like your shift box of maybe your first gear is going out. you need to go check it out because your car might leave you stranded someday.
