Its a feel-good factor, although I never expect to have my answers selected. The first time it happened it was a genuine and very pleasant surprise.
I like to see what star rating I've got, and especially the asker's comments.
Yahoo! Answers is a great way of interacting, sometimes to help, sometimes to have a laugh, sometimes to sympathise, and so on. Getting your answer selected as best is a lovely bonus, but not what its all about.

It was a nice surprise.
Now I have proof that strangers think my advice is good too. This will go a long way in impressing upon my good friends that I do know what I am talking about in certain situations.

I enjoy it.
There is a satifaction in knowing someone chose my advse over everyone elses.
Of cource I sometimes get surpirsed becouse I feel that I didn;t give the best answer myself.

I pop a cork on a bottle of bubbly, light an expensive cigar and have a quiet moment reflecting on the answer and pondering it's significance.

I feel so special because my answer is being a great help to the person.Therefore I feel i have made a difference.

The first one really makes you feel good. But when they leave a comment telling you that your answer was really good or helpful it just makes your day.
