I could be the way that you were raise. Was it difficult for your father to show you love? Remember that people show love in different ways. If you go to work everday and provide a living for your family that is one way that you are showing your love. Also, maybe you could try getting involved in your son's interests so that you could have more in common. I hope this helps.

Honestly, it is difficult for most men...and some women to truly show their love. but it is important to note that you don't have to show it in the same way...sometimes it shows in your actions and such.

I would love to recommend the book "The 5 Love Languages" to you. It is written from a Christian point of view...but is applicable to all. It will help you find your love language (we all have different ones) and that of your children and others around you. It will also teach you how to speak the Love Language that applies to each person in your life.

I think showing your "love" to your kids doesn't always have to be the normal hugs/kisses physical expression. With my kid, I always make sure I listen to her when she is talking to me. Also, I make sure I spend time doing things with her (taking her to the park, or to the zoo, etc. - even though some of these things aren't my cup of tea). So I think you can show your kids "love" by telling them how proud you are of them, participating/attending any sporting events, etc. Being there for them shows "love" more than a hug or kiss could do.

If you just take the time to do things with the boys, that is showing love. You time is the most precious thing that you could do for them.
