I think you should take some time, do a little research and do your own homework. You will never learn anything if you don't do your own work.

You're wanting a Cliff Notes version of a civilization like Egypt?!? They were advanced enough to build pyramids 5,000 years ago! And we still don't know how they did it! I do know that they had many gods and goddesses, including Horas, Isis, and Osiris. They believed that by preserving the body, it would be able to take its place in the afterlife, which was an idealized version of Egypt (they liked their lot in life). They originally preserved the bodies by leaving them, as is, in the desert. The dryness of the desert preserved the bodies. Then they went to the elaborate practice of mummification. The richer you were, the better a mummy you ended up as.

The pharoahs were considered to be gods, too, who interceded with the other gods on behalf of the Egyptian people. That's why they were given such elaborate burials. And the pyramids probably weren't built by slaves. When the farming seasons were ended, the pharoahs had peasants come out and earn money by working on the pyramids. Some stayed on, but some went back to their farms next season. Kind of like a public works project.
