If you are the only one to keep the ties a quilt is a beautiful way to keep and display the ties. It can be made into squares with just the end parts as the design or you can open them up and cut shapes to make into a design or both. I just had an idea! You could use some of his suits as the square and then cut down the ties and tie them and sew them over a v of white/blue/? to represent the shirt part. I have never seen one but a suit and tie quilt would be unique. I have seen some tie quilts with satins for the border or edge of the quilt and lots of embroidery stitches known as crazy stitching. Also remember to embroider his name, birth & death dates, and list his accomlishments, and the date the quilt was made. Not only does this help keep his memory alive but adds to the value of the quilt. If there are loved ones to share with, you can make smaller versions as walls hangings or table scarves or throws with all of the facts also. I have seen cute vests, skirts, and purses made from them also. An easier way to display them is to frame an assortment in one large frame or make a wall grouping of framed ties (some free form, some with the shirt and suit look, some sewn together). A pic of him and/or one with you and him and his facts either typed or engraved or nicely painted would make a great duo in one matted frame. Some could be matted to enhance certain ties. You will probably need to dry clean or carefully wash the ties, because old ones seem to have a musty odor, before making them into anything. I love to redesign things and make them useful once again or to keep for memories. Have fun and bless you for being so close to a family member!

Sew them together into a quilt cover. That way the creation could be passed down through the family along with Uncle Jim's story. If you're not a seamstress, why not commission a Textile/Materials Artisan to make the thing for you, that would even add value to the finished piece.

Wow! Sounds like the beginnings of a great quilt.
There's a book called "Daddy's Ties" that gives instructions for making a quilt of neck ties.
Definitely a great way to remember Uncle Jim.

I have seen ties turned into very interesting jackets and hats. If you can sew then you might be able to try creating something or maybe into a small quilt. You could also fold and display each one in a unusual pattern into a couple of glass encased frames. Or finally you could sell them or list them on ebay if you are really not sure what to do with them.

you could tie a dogs outdoors for a minimum era of time, and not in any respect with out some supervision. lengthy leads can get tangled, and genuinely go away her unable to drink her water, or get out of the elements. you would possibly want to not in any respect go away a dogs tied for hours on end. this is uninteresting, and also you're in all chance to have her advance unfavourable habit. it is also propose. How would you want to be tied up? as long as she isn't tied for extremely lengthy, and someone is round to be sure she's no longer getting tangled, that is fantastic.

Have you considered making a keepsake quilt perhaps? This could be handed down through the family, or possibly displayed somewhere appropriate in honor of his life's work
