Use Rid-A-Bug Home Insect Killer. It can be bought at Wal-Mart & comes in a big container with a spray handle.
Also use glue traps under the refrigerator & cabinets & in the back of closets. They work much better than roach-motels. My first apartment was teeming with roaches but after a few uses of Rid-A-Bug & use of the glue traps I got rid of all of them.
Other things that help is taking the garbage out every day, keeping cereal, pasta, rice & other such things in airtight canisters or zip-lock bags, & rinse cans from tinned food before throwing them away. Insects will not come around if they cannot get to food.

The absolute best thing to use is a ROACH GEL. Combat makes one. It comes in a big syringe that you use to apply to cracks and crevices. Roaches are disgusting and eat thier dead. They also return to their nest appending death. So the roach eats the gel, returns to the nest, dies, and is eaten by his fellow friends. A domino effect begins. I SWEAR by this stuff. It works great. In a few days you won't see any roaches. My mom's house was overrun. Used it 7-8 years ago. Still no roaches. Of course she has reapplied the gel a few times over the years. This is pest control's best kept secret. Don't be surprised if you find the spot on the shelf empty. It can be hard to find. I use it to pretreat and treat houses. I have never been disappointed. My whole circle of fam and friends use it when needed. TRUST ME it works. Cost $5-10 a syringe. For a house - 2 small or 1 big. Start with the kitchen and bath. They love water.

bug bombs do kill .... but for the most part do not prevent... you need a bug spray that lasts.
my advice: Ortho home Defense Max.
i recommend this to ANYONE that has bug problems in their house. spray it around the baseboard and doors and watch it work.. only drawback is that it doesnt prevent them from coming in.. it just kills them.. so you have to clean them up when they die.. but it does reduce the amount in your house as it did in mine.
they absolutley hate light... keep this in mind.

Boric acid works great, the vermin will explode after they get into it.
But if you have children or pets, beware.

sprinkle boric acid around the corners of your house...and anywhere you have cracks. You will begin to see them die off in the next few days.
