if your car is 96 or newer the light can be reset by a code reader yuu can buy one for less than $100 at most auto part stores it can also help you find the problem if you dont want to spend the cash most autozone stores will turn it off for you
you will need to drive 100 miles for the cars computer to reset for the inspection test

It's a maintenance reminder and is controlled by the computer. Being a dash light it can be disconnected by a technician but will void any warranty you have. Best leave it and use it to remind you to change the engine oil.

only a qualified mechanic can reprogram the car's computer. it must be repaired first, then reprogramed
