I need to buy one but it has to be stereo. Is there some technical term used in the description for stereo?

It would most probably be stereo, and you should be able to make out from the sound if it is totally one dimensional...alternately a fader should be a good idication if you're getting sound on both speakers

Radio and stereo are the same thing. Radio is short for Radio Frequency Emissions. Radio is just the term used when it first came out. The term 'Stereo' was used when radio came out w/ 2 or more speakers. Stereo is short for stereophonic sound. And then of course there's surround sound. Most surround sounds have a radio on them. Basically all names for the device have to do w/ the amount of sound that come out.

There are lots of DAB radios that aren't stereo - e.g. some of the Evoke and Tivoli models - these will not say stereo though - and a good rule is if you see one speaker on each side of the unit then it is stereo. Some will have a line out (to go into your hifi) and this signal will be in stereo, even if the unit doesnt play in stereo standing alone.
