are there any women who can hold a reasonable discussion about football without their side of the argument being based on how cute someone is? no sexism intended, its just that whenever a woman has answered my questions on here thats what it comes down to!

Well I think all footballers are gay... But I do know some women that would be happy to answer any questions on football and hold a reasonable discussion... I, I dislike the sport. I think they get paid too much for a job that isn't as important as many other life saving jobs... I think people who work in hospital's, hospices, care homes etc should get paid more than footballers... it's crazy the world is upside down admiring the people that really have nothing to be admired for! (Yes that includes actor/actresses/models etc) They all need to be brought down a peg, give them the wages people in hospitals get and tell them thats all they're worth... see how much of a storm they kick up...

if the woman is really interested in it, than she would, why wouldnt she???. Those who answer like that are simply into it because its all over right now and they are just trying to be polite with u.

what makes me more sad is to go watch the match and see all these guys, with red faces from drinking and screaming and who are NOT AT ALL sportive. I mean, its very interesting to support a team and watch her win and lose, but isnt it a thousand times more interesting to support a team when u know that u can play, and u really understand whats its like to run around for hours, to learn, to win and to lose urself?? dont u understand ur team better when u actually participate in some sport and do smth urself???

so please, befor judging any outside fans, look at the ones who can talk about it... it can be a little scary....much less scary when a woman keeps up the conversation and jokes about "cuteness" of a player.

and, btw, dont ever say anything about some female tennis players, after all its not important, is it???

I'm doing alright, despite the dual handicaps of being born a woman and in the U.S. ;-) At least that's what the men in my life tell me. This is Scotland though, so one can never be too sure it's not a wind-up.

As an aside, my in-person football discussions are all with men -- so it's great to be able to share a woman's eye view of the 'beautiful game' here.

American football is the sport least marketed towards women. As a matter of fact we are only portrayed by the leagues as accessories, or sexual objects...So in an industry that views us as nothing but "cute" women tend not to invest much more of their efforts or thoughts in it other than who is "cute"...But that is still speaking for a small segment of the female population there are plenty of women who understand the game and follow the teams...and even play the betting cards better than any men out there...(little tribute to my mom with that last sentence...hehehe)

I am a season ticket holder of a premiership team - so not all women base their arguments on what a player looks like. Although it does make it twice the fun to watch. Surely you would say the same about womens volleyball??

Yes! I have a son and his dad is not in the home so I learned all the things i could with him about all sports. Football, basketball we watch college games. I always pick the opposite team so we can fuss about who's better, we even watch the drafts, and man when it comes to NFL and NBA we are at it then... i even watch ESPN for more then an hour with him.

I've been following my team, Liverpool, for 25 years, so please don't tell me I don't know anything about football! And what if some of the players are cute - it's just a happy coincidence! Aren't we allowed a little light relief in this stressful life?

Yes, of course. Although there is no harm in admiring a cute guy when you see one. And be honest now, if you watch a game where women are playing wouldnt you admire a cute one too??

It is just not only because of appearance, they discuss about football, cause always women think they know everything and they are right in everything ;-)
