Know where the saying 'saved by the bell' came from? Jewish people believe in burying their dead by sundown on the day they die. Worried that the person might not really be dead, when the body was buried a string was put in the grave with the body that lead to a bell on top of the grave. Someone watched the grave for 24 hours, just in case.
