Pull all of them BEFORE they set more seed.
Make sure there is no bare soil for new thistle seeds to sprout in. Make sure your lawn grass is very healthy & thick - very few if any new thistle plants will sprout in a healthy lawn.
Use mulch to cover all bare soil in flower gardens,around shrubs, etc

dig them up by the roots and dispose of them. apply a good weed killer to the area be sure to get them before they seed out too as this will lead to infestation next yr
