Personally I vote Ricardo from Portugal... then again I'm Portuguese so...
One thing I dont understando though, how come FIFA didnt even place him among the 5 best players for the match?

Ricardo. If there was any doubt before Saturday, it has since been erased. He read 4 out of 5 of those PKs. Utterly brilliant.
I also like Petr Cech, although his team left far too early to say he was the best in the tournament.

No contest. Gianluigi Buffon. Would have been close between him and Ricardo but for all the rolling about "simulating" he did in a couple of matches. Not seen Buffon do anything like, just scream at his defenders which is the sign of a great keeper.
Still think the hosts will win though.

As for Ricardo in the player of the match part, his biggest contribution came during the Penalty shoot outs. Voting begins on the 75th minute. The voters probably had no idea that he would read all of the spot kicks.

Gianluigi Buffon, no doubt. He and the Italian Back 4 are the best in the whole world. They've only allowed one goal in the whole tourney so far, and it was an own goal, so you can't do much better than that.
