if you mean to reset the service lights you can get a tool from draper for about £15 that you plug in and then follow the instructions i have one and its brill

Ya agree with answer 2, just buy the reset tool. Cheap and will pay for itself if you only put the service light out once

Take it to a mechanic that services BMW's. They have a reset tool that will turn the indicator off.

the check engine light? the light under the hood? I need more information. If you cut power to the light it won't come on. :/ If the engine ECU is throwing a code you need to clear the code and the check engine light will go away. If the trouble comes back it will light up again and you should seek service.
