The franchisee often ends up resenting what is intended as resource and support, due to the stifling, rigid constraints of the agreement. Having little or no flexibiity in procurement decision-making, the person (who came into the license with the purpose of being their own boss) ends up feeling like the tail of the dog, so to speak.
