I think that football brings closer people supporting one team for sure! When you are supporting the same team,especially on the stadium, in the bar etc, it feels like everyone is like ur brother/sister, even if you have never met a person before! I think in most cases it is like that with other fans too... unless one of the sides becomes rude then it's hard to stop! I am a supporter of Ukraine, and on Friday when they played against Italy I was sitting in the bar full of Italians! We all had such a good lough and just had a great time watching and cheering for our teams, and even when Ukraine lost I was happy to congratulate the Italians... I think people mostly get pissed off when they feel that the game was not fair! But I think in general football is a great way to meet new people and you just have to remember that it is just a game!

On the whole it unites people with their passion for the game - but that passion runs so high, that sometimes events on the picth can cause fans to argue about things - and of course there are those complete cowardly idiots that use football as an excuse to beat up innocent fans from other teams/countries. After the Ronaldo/Rooney incident, I do not like Ronaldo, and have zero respect for him, but I hold no ill feelings toward any Portuguese fans.

it unites us because i watch the world cup matches and see the pictures and if u look carefully you would realise that most of the times fans of the two opposing teams are celebrating together regardless of who wins
