If certain subject matter (snot, etc.) is inappropriate conversation during a meal, why on earth would anyone just start blowing their "snoz" while people are eating? Especially in upscale restaurants. I have never understood why you wouldn't excuse yourself and go to the bathroom. Besides, you should certainly want to wash your hands afterwards. Geez!

Because people are ignorant and don't raise their children to know proper dinner etiquette. When those children become adults, they do rude, disgusting things like blow their nose at the table. A while back, I actually saw someone at a restaurant filing their nails! All behavior like this comes down to ignorance.

Hello I totally agree with you it makes me want to leave the table and it doesn't do much for my appetite. Hey, maybe it's good if you want to lose weight. But seriously, I would never blow my nose at the table I think it is rude and I also would be afraid a booger would be hanging out.
I hate seeing and hearing boogers a flying

No Hank you!

I have a problem that If I eat anything hot that my nose runs... I never knew that it bothered people... I would think that sniffing all of the time would bother people more than not blowing my nose..

Being American and now living in Europe,I see alot more of it here then in the U.S. I think it's a cultural thing. My husband (and most men here)do it and I find it embarrassing. Hope he gets the idea to maybe change that when we move back to the states.
