In their defense Argentina should have still been around, they deserved to go on, I think losing their no. 1 keeper was a set back and those not-so good substitues.
But other than that, we are seeing the best teams in the semis, except for Italy... I mean you can't not be good and then make it so far. Italy got there on luck, poor Aussies now have something real to cry about.
But I don't think people will lose interest, most will revert to supporting one of the existing teams, i.e like the underdogs (portugal) or those rising from the ashes (france) or the nation behind the team (germany) or the squad that had to go through their match fixing problems (italy)... so there will be many reasons still to support. Besides we also support players alone!

NO, an all European semifinal what is better? I was about sick of all the Brazil this Brazil that most everyone thinking they're hot sh*t and now the Brazil fans can't take a loss. Those three teams sucked this World Cup so how are they the best?
And whoever agrees with you knows as much about football as a rock.

I'm Italian fan, and in the last Euro/World championship Italy hasn't reach semi-finals, but I never thought as you are.
At Japan/Korea 2002 Italy was pulled out by odd decisions from referee Byron Moreno. I've thought if Italy should have got a great match they never had loose against Korea, a weaker opponent.
The semi-finalist are anyway the 4 best teams. Other teams had got their chances and miss to win.
Brazil has one of the worst team I remember since 1978. I think their coach deserve blame, he allowed the supporters to have a heavy unbalanced formation, with Kaka Ronaldinho, Adriano, Ronaldo playing together. Those played miss to score lot of goals. Defense was to weak against great teams as France. Argentina was pulled out at penalty kicks, they were at same level with other semifinalist teams. England miss their chance too. When WC was starting, they seems between the best teams, but they never play in impressive manner as Argentina and other do.
So, i disagree.

I'm ok with England being knocked out. It just seemed like something was missing-maybe a central midfielder, or having Owen back, or a mature Rooney. Brazil deserved to lose, they were playing this whole tournament as if they did not have to play their best game until the final. Argentina should have beaten Germany. Germany got so lucky that they they were able to injure the Argentine keeper, sneak one in late in the game, and win in kicks.

Of course it would have been better. It's the World Cup, not the European Cup! Besides, things get boring when the best teams and the bitterest rivalries (Argentina-England, anyone?) are gone.

Nein. England were rubbish, Argentina well they played well but the manager was rubbish not being messi on. Brazil don't play like a team and could have done better.

u r so rite, i don even feel like watching some of the matches cause all of the amazing teams with the best players like messi, crespo from argentina, ronaldihno n ronaldo from brazil, rooney, beckham from england . now that they r all gone there is no point of watching the matches anymore unless u r supporting one of the left european teams.my guess is that either portugal or france will go home wid the cup.

unfortunately it is about scoring goals, not who plays the best game... otherwise teams like Argentina & Holland would have reached further. Brazil wasnt on top of their game and England hasnt lived up to their posibilities either, with such a group of star players....

if they're out, then they are not the best.
Honestly, don't you think it's boring to see the same teams winning over and over again? It is the WORLD Cup.
WORLD WORLD WORLD WORLD
Not the Argentina-Brazil-England Cup.
Anyone is entitled to win it if they have the ability.
