I'm looking at how the best way is to change £'s into Bulgarian LEVS. Is it best to go to a bank there with some pounds and change it or best to go to a cash machine and take money out there?

You will find that people come up to you in the street and ask you if you want to change money , they say that they will give you a better rate than the bank DONT DO IT
ATM machines are a lot more difficult to find in Bulgaria but all the hotels wwill change money and there are lots of money exchange bureau's
Dont get your money in England ! British banks take the piss and give you a lousy rate.Have a nice holiday PS dont bring levs back to the UK IT'S MICKEY MOUSE MONEY and you wont get much for it.

Never change money in the street! I wouldn't even recommend change bureaus. The best way is to change money in a local bank - the rates are there to see and there usually is no commission. This comes from a local. Have a nice time here in BG:)

Take money out of a cash point there, you'll be charged by the bank, probably about £1.50 a time so it works out cheaper than exchanging it, to be safe though have a little money exchanged or a travellers cheque so you've money in your pocket at the airport.

It won't make much difference really - there are street changers all over Sofia and it's about the same deal as a cash point. Be careful though - don't flash too much cash or you could get very mugged.

As far as I know the cheapest way is to withdraw it from an ATM in BG . For me when travelling there I prefer to carry it in Leva cash from UK.
