Svetlana Beriosova was good. She's dead, but when she danced she was possibly the world's best. She also used dance as a form of protest by incorporating Lithuanian folkdance into her choreography. She celebrate her roots during the Soviet rule of Lithuania when Lithuanians were not allowed to openly do things that were strictly Lithuanian (at least not on International stages).
