Sign of allergic reaction. You have to take an anti-histamine medicine. Either see a doctor or go the the pharmacist to get a recomendation.

First of all, did you remove the stinger? Sometimes, if you do not remove it, or if you only remove part of it, the swelling will continue until it is completely removed. If you have already completely removed it, here are some things you should do:

Keep using the cold compress, but alternate it on and off for 5 minutes each.

If the sting didn't get your actual eyeball, but rather the skin around it, you can make a paste from baking soda ans water, and pat it over the stung area. If it is itching, you can put some Calamine lotion on it. Just make sure you don;t get either one in your eye.

DO NOT put meat tenderizer on the sting. Some people will recommend this, but it actually does quite a bit of harm. It contains enzymes that dissolve the fibers of the muscle tissue, and can do serious nerve damage, which will result in a loss of feeling on the areas you rubbed it.

If the sting was directly on your eyeball, it would be a good idea to go to your eye doctor to make sure the stinger was fully removed. This will help ensure no vision loss.

If you experience a rash that spreads over your body, difficulty breathing or chest pain, wheezing or a swollen tongue or throat....call 911, as it could be a serious allergic reation.

Give it another 24 hours. Continue doing what you are doing as well as take some anti-flammatory. Just remember to continue taking the Bendryl as well as using a cold pack for 20 minutes at a time. If by then it doesn't help you need to see medical attention. Also are you sure that the stinger has been removed. One good home remedy is to use vinegar and baking soda that is made into a paste by stirring it until it thickens. Leave on till it dries. This helps to remove the stinger.

Apply aspirin. Moisten the sting, the rub an aspirin tablet into it. The aspirin neutralizes the inflammatory agents in the venom. Certainly don't try this if you are allergic to aspirin and be careful since the sting is on your eyelid. Also an ice pack will help reduce the swelling.

If you have any anti-histamine tablets in the house you can give him one of those every 4 hours. My Vet prescribed Piriton anti-histamine tabs when one of my dogs was stung by a bee a few years ago. An ice pack held on the paw will help to take the swelling down.

I always smear on some vitamin E just after getting stung. The pain goes away and it never swells. Here's a webpage that might have some helpful information-

as bee sting is acid you must remove sting first then mix up paste of bicarbonate of soda and dab it on - did it with my dog recently and it worked a treat
wasp stings are alkaline so use vinegar instead of bicarbonate of soda
