Do you understand how many times this stupid question has been asked on this board?

The answer is simple:

If you believe in evolution, the egg came first.

If you believe in creationism, the chicken came first. God is apparently entirely incapable of creating anything other than adult animals. God forbid he should be able to create a freaking chicken egg, despite being able to create anything he pleases.

You know, the silly question: If God is Omnipotent, can he create a rock he cannot lift?

Well, apparently, the creationists believe he cannot even create a freaking chicken egg.

That passion enough?

Scientists have determined that this year - the answer was the egg came first, obvious really - the thing that a chicken was before it became a chicken would have laid an egg and the evolutionarily improved chicken would have popped out of it.

Unless you believe in creationism that is...

Actual chicken came from an egg. That egg must have been laid by the member of the ancestor of chicken. So, egg came first, and from it, chicken

It was the chicken though, evolution meant that the animal had to be there before the idea of harvesting eggs out of the parent

Biologically speaking the egg would come first. The creature who laid the egg needed another to fertilize it so any genetic mutations would only be found in the offspring (egg).
