Florida? Good luck. We stayed in a hotel and they crawled under the door! Unless you inspect every single possible entry (especially under doors!) and be sure there is no possible opening, at all, you will have lizards. They are part of reality in FL.

Cats are good for controlling lizards, sticky traps, put egg shells around where you see the lizard, spray with water & tabasco sauce, keep the house super clean. Last but not least, get use to them, if you can't beat them, join them.
