Talking and interacting with nations and leaders, whether you like them or not, is called diplomacy. Shaking hands with someone doesn't mean you that support them or their methods.

The glasses excuse was a load of cobblers, however.

I agree with Boris. Mugabe is a despicable person, but diplomatic niceties are still to be observed.
