actually its not really under wear, but rather a choice of style for coloring. If you were to see his costume hanging up it is not all blue and then a red speedo next to it, it shows it as a design they have on the costume itself. Like if some one has stripes on their shirt, he has red around the area his underwear should be.

Superman is flying over Metropolis one day and is very ******. He flies over the Justice League and sees Wonderwoman sunbathing on the roof. She's butt naked and spread eagle.
