Take the trains....or hire a car and drive yourself..I hired a budget car in Madrid and drove away quite happilly..(cost $180 A for 5 days)....learning how to drive on 'other side' of the road on route...you can pick your own itenary and plenty of places to stay along the way..You may even opt for a van and sleep on route, or take a tent...
You can cover most of Europe in 2 weeks...would be awesome...and I would love to come with you...
I drove Madrid to Barcelona in a day..so thats the distance...and the scenery is awesome and you can stop where you choose...
Its the way to go...

A few questions need to be figured out to make this doable(I am Owner of a Travel Agency, so these questions are to be helpful in your quest): Where would your departure city be? Do you have a specific destination in Europe you want to take your family? Travel budget?
There's quite a few Holidays in Europe that you can take advantage of; however, what is available will hinge on the above questions. Difficult to recommend a certain Vacation Package for your family if the particulars are not addressed.

Before you start deciding where and how to go, first, ask your kids where they want to go.
Decide on whether you want to see a few things well, or do a whirlwind large tour.
Decide whether you want to rent a car or travel by train. Depending on the country/ies you decide on, you might want to explore the cost of a Europail pass.
Do your kids want to interact with European kids, or just sightsee? To really meet other people, consider staying at hostels.
You will need a hosteling card

I just came back from a 9 week trip in Australia and New Zealand (I'm definitely NOT a teenager) and the hostels were wonderful. They have communal kitchens, complete with cooking utensils, stoves, friges, microwaves, etc., a common room with TV, videos, and a book exchange. All have fun activities or trips, most of which are free. They may have a cafe, sauna, pool, hot tub, video games, etc. Most have a travel desk where you can get information or book a trip, anything from general sightseeing to hang gliding, biking, hiking, water sports, etc..
There are a variety of sleeping accommodations, from single rooms to dorms, with secure storage for valuables. This gives you options for what kind of room/s you all want.
It's a cheap, fun way to travel, and your kids will make new friends, which is one of the best things about international travel.
A very important tip is to use your frequent flier miles to book the trip. For just 26,000 miles, I travelled from Baltimore to Cairns, Australia (location of the Great Barrier Reef) and back.
Good luck!

West rim is a vacationer catch on an indian reservation. they have the sky walk element and are nearer to vegas so a brilliant number of day excursions circulate there. The perspectives are no longer as reliable. South Rim is a factor of Grand Canyon national Park. that's the terrific perspectives of the canyon. it may be terrific in case you need to spend a pair of days interior the park. stay in between the historic hotels interior the park or between the hotel exterior the park front. Watch the dawn and sunset over the canyon, spend it slow trekking down into the canyon, circulate on a mule journey, take it slow to savour the park. be certain to end at Hoover Dam on your way.
